Slip Tie Knot Plait:
- Brush the hair thoroughly to remove any knots and tangles.
- Section the hair at the top.
- Lift the section high, separate into two and tie a knot.
- Get your model to hold the two ends of the knot between the middle and ring finger.
- Next section take from the temples, incorporating the hair at the side of the head.
- Split the hair into two again and tie into a knot, placing the ends of the knot into the models hand.
- For the last section at the bottom of the hair, take the section and split into two, get the model to hold this hair.
- Take the front section and place under the second section of hair into the third pieces of hair. Knot these together.
- The second section of hair, move to the front and take the third bit into the hand. The second section has now become the first section of hair.
- Take the first section of hair and weave under the third strands created.
- Keep moving the sections forward, taking two pieces of hair and knotting them together.
Wiggle Plait:
- Brush the hair thoroughly to remove any tangles from the hair.
- Create a normal three strand plait.
- When you have finished the plait, take the strand on the furthest right and pull upwards to create a wiggle effect.
Waterfall Plait:
- Brush the hair thoroughly to remove and knots and tangles from the hair.
- Start as you would with a french plait with three strands.
- Plait and drop the section on the right. Get your model to hold this strand without pulling.
- Repeat until you are left with the image below.
- To transform the waterfall plait into a ladder plait start off again like you would as if you were creating a french plait.
- Instead of leaving strands down, pick them up from the waterfall above.
- So plait like before, when you get to the dropped down hair, place it into your plait and carry on down the line until all the hair has been picked up.

Five Strand Plait:
- Brush the hair thoroughly to remove any knots and tangles.
- To create a five strand braid, take three strands of hair into the left hand, and two into the right.
- Take a strand from the right over the other strand in the right hand. Then stop.
- Repeat from the left, taking a strand over and then under and stop.
- The strands should now have swapped sides with two in the left and three in the right.
- Keep repeating over, under and stop to help with the process.
- Repeat moving the hair under and over and then stop when the plait resembles a five strand plait.
